Forest Flashbacks: Forest Drops Lawsuit, Biggest Donor Faces Prison for Bribery

Forest Drops Lawsuit Against Gov. Cooper
- In response to the news that Dan Forest dropped his lawsuit against Governor Cooper, Cooper for NC released the following statement: “While Dan Forest makes reckless decisions that endanger North Carolinians in an effort to prop up his campaign, Governor Cooper will continue to do what is right for their health and safety.”
- Forest threw up his hands and shrugged, “I did my part.” He was later photographed fishing during the work day.
Dan Forest’s Biggest Donor Faces Prison for Bribery
- Federal prosecutors recommended that Forest’s biggest donor, Greg Lindberg, spend 14 years in prison for one of North Carolina’s largest political bribery scandals.
- Cooper for NC launched WhatsDanHiding.com earlier this year, which highlights the ties between Forest and Lindberg.
Mt. Airy Councilman Says Forest Should “Know Better” And Wear a Mask
- Mount Airy Councilman Ron Niland criticized Forest’s failure to follow public health advice in Mt. Airy, saying that Forest should “know better.” Forest returned to in-person fundraising weeks ago and has held at least sixteen indoor events.
NCHSAA Commissioner disproves Forest’s claim that delaying sports was political
- After Forest suggested that the NCHSAA’s decision on delaying sports was political, the NCHSAA commissioner denied his claim, explaining the members had all discussed and agreed on this decision.
