Dan Forest’s Pledge to Continue In-Person Fundraising: “It Will Be A Lot More Of This”

LEXINGTON On Saturday, Dan Forest held another in-person, indoor campaign event with over 100 attendees, including Representative Ted Budd (R-13). Photos from the event indicate no mandating of masks or social distancing measures. In an interview, Forest foreshadowed his irresponsible, dangerous campaign strategy, “It will be a lot more of this.”

WATCH.

Forest returned to in-person fundraising weeks ago, and has held multiple campaign events without requiring masks or social distancing. He also claimed, “Masks do not work with viruses.”

Liz Doherty, spokesperson for Cooper for NC, said, “Forest’s pledge to continue to endanger the health and safety of North Carolinians is disappointing but predictable. He’s demonstrated at every turn that he is willing to risk lives for his own political gain.”
