RALEIGH – Today, Roy Cooper continued his “Make Stuff Cost Less” tour, holding a rally with hundreds of supporters in Durham to highlight how he will continue his work in the U.S. Senate to make life more affordable for North Carolina families.
“For too many people, the middle class feels like a distant dream,” said Roy Cooper. “With the cost of groceries, health care, utilities, housing and childcare skyrocketing, working families are being crushed. I am running to make stuff cost less, for young parents like Kewanna dealing with higher grocery prices, for farmers like Pender being forced to navigate the reckless tariffs and for veterans like Tim who are seeing their VA health care get gutted. In Washington DC, I’ll be an independent voice, working with anyone to make stuff cost less for hard working North Carolinians.”
“Roy Cooper has delivered time and time again for North Carolina: Getting health care for hundreds of thousands of working people, making our communities safer and lowering costs for our state’s families,” said Governor Josh Stein. “Roy can see, like the rest of us, that things are too expensive right now and our people are hurting because of it. We need someone in the U.S. Senate who will make things better and make stuff cost less – that’s Roy Cooper.”
“Every time I go to the grocery store, it feels like costs are getting higher and higher,” said parent and public school educator Kewanna Riley. “It shouldn’t be like this. If you work hard, you should be able to afford healthy food for your family. Roy Cooper knows that stuff costs too much right now. We know he has a track record of delivering lower costs for working families. But his opponent, DC insider and Big Oil Lobbyist Michael Whatley, keeps backing the reckless and chaotic tariffs sending grocery prices through the roof. That is exactly why we need Roy Cooper in Washington, fighting for us as our next Senator.”
“Whether I’m at the doctor’s office, shopping for groceries or paying the electric bill, everything costs so much these days,” said young professional Melissa Garber. “It’s hard to afford the health care you need when costs are rising for all basic necessities. Roy Cooper has made it clear what he stands for and that is the people of North Carolina. We need Roy Cooper in the U.S. Senate to stand up for our state and fight to make stuff cost less, including health care.”
At the event, Roy discussed his plans to make stuff cost less, including how he’ll work to lower the cost of food and groceries, health care and utilities.
Roy was joined by Governor Josh Stein, Justice Anita Earls, Congresswoman Valerie Foushee and State Senator Natalie Murdock.
On the Make Stuff Cost Less tour, Roy released his plans to lower the cost of food and groceries, health care and utilities. In the coming weeks Roy will share his plans for making housing and child care more affordable.
