RALEIGH – Today, Roy Cooper continued his “Make Stuff Cost Less” tour, holding an event in Winston-Salem to discuss how he will continue his work in the U.S. Senate to make life more affordable for North Carolina families.
“Stuff just costs too much,” said Roy Cooper. “Here in Winston-Salem and throughout North Carolina, working families are being slammed by rising prices, from groceries to health care to utilities – and the chaos coming out of Washington DC is just making it worse. While DC insider Michael Whatley has spent his career looking out for himself and lobbying for Big Oil and utility companies including Duke Energy, I’m running to fight for working families, make stuff cost less and crack down on big corporations looking to rip off working people.”
“For working families like mine, as child care grows even more expensive, Duke Energy hikes our rates and the price at the gas pump spikes, life is getting more unaffordable,” said working mom NaTashia Alexander. “DC insider Michael Whatley spent his life fighting for the wealthy and well connected, including lobbying for Duke Energy. Roy Cooper spent his career working to make life more affordable for North Carolina families and is now running to make stuff cost less – we need him in the U.S. Senate.”
“As a veteran who served 36 years, I am deeply grateful for our service members and the tremendous bravery and skill they are demonstrating. I also worry that while our troops are fighting in another foreign war without a clear exit strategy, prices are skyrocketing for families here at home,” said Vice Admiral John Morgan, U.S. Navy (Ret.). “Roy will always put North Carolina first, over his party and over politics. He is who we need in the U.S. Senate.”
On the Make Stuff Cost Less tour, Roy released his plans to lower the cost of food and groceries, health care, utilities, child care and housing.
