RALEIGH – Today, Roy Cooper continued his “Make Stuff Cost Less” tour, holding an event in Wilson to discuss how he will work in the U.S. Senate to make life more affordable for North Carolina families.
“For families in Wilson County and across our state, costs are skyrocketing and just getting by is a struggle – we need to make stuff cost less,” said Roy Cooper. “DC insider and Big Oil and utility company lobbyist Michael Whatley has spent his career pushing for policies that benefit his bottom line, including helping Duke Energy as they hiked rates. I’m running to take on big corporations and insurance companies, and make stuff cost less for hard working families.”
“Everything is getting more expensive, and it feels harder and harder to get by – I am worried about my family’s future and the future of my students,” said Wilson County native and public school teacher Laniya Williams Daniels. “Roy Cooper has always fought to make life more affordable, and we need Roy in the U.S. Senate to continue fighting for families like mine.”
“North Carolina veterans deserve a U.S. Senator who will listen to them and show up for them everyday,” said retired Navy veteran and long-time Wilson County resident Ray Chambers. “Costs are climbing everyday but Roy’s opponent, Michael Whatley, continues to put himself first at the expense of working North Carolinians. I know that Roy Cooper will continue to put North Carolina’s service members, veterans and families first in the U.S. Senate.”
On the Make Stuff Cost Less tour, Roy released his plans to lower the cost of food and groceries, health care, utilities, child care and housing.
