RALEIGH – Today, Roy Cooper continued his “Make Stuff Cost Less” tour, holding an event in Rocky Mount to highlight how he will work in the U.S. Senate to make life more affordable for North Carolinians.
“Families across our state are getting crushed by skyrocketing prices, from groceries, to health care, to utilities to child care,” said Roy Cooper. “The reckless policies coming out of Washington DC – backed by DC insiders like my opponent Michael Whatley – are hurting North Carolina families. It didn’t use to be like this. Growing up in Nash County, families believed that if they worked hard, they could afford the things they needed to get by. But now, for so many families here in Rocky Mount and across North Carolina, that’s not true anymore. That’s exactly why I am running – to work with anyone I can to make stuff cost less for working families.”
“I’ve known Roy Cooper since middle school, and to know Roy is to know a leader who is always looking for ways to help others,” said Mary Clinton, a Nash County native and Roy’s classmate and friend. “North Carolina working families are getting squeezed by skyrocketing prices, and we need Roy in the Senate to fight for us and to bring some Nash County common sense to Washington DC.”
At the event, Roy discussed his plans to make stuff cost less for North Carolina families, including how he’ll work to lower costs for North Carolinians.
On the Make Stuff Cost Less tour, Roy has released his plans to lower the cost of food and groceries, health care, utilities and child care. In the coming weeks, Roy will share his plans for making housing more affordable.
