RALEIGH – Today, Roy Cooper continued his “Make Stuff Cost Less” tour, holding an event in Greenville to highlight how he will continue his work in the U.S. Senate to make life more affordable for North Carolina families.
“Food and grocery prices are simply out of control and it is because of Washington DC’s reckless policies,” said Roy Cooper. “We need to end the chaotic tariffs that are squeezing our farmers and put a stop to big corporations ripping off working people. In Washington DC, I’ll be an independent voice, working with anyone to make stuff cost less for hard working North Carolinians.”
“My friends and I know too well that the cost of living is too high for everyone,” said recent East Carolina University graduate and community planner Isabella Sardina. “From skyrocketing health care premiums to rising grocery costs, people are struggling. That’s why we need Roy Cooper in the U.S. Senate – he’ll fight to make life more affordable and deliver for hardworking North Carolinians like you and me.”
At the event, Roy discussed his plans to make stuff cost less, including how he’ll work to lower the cost of food and groceries, health care and utilities.
Roy was joined by Isabella Sardina, a community planner and recent ECU graduate who spoke about how rising costs are impacting her, and Dr. Susan Boutilier, a doctor, restaurateur and farmer who spoke about how food costs and tariffs are impacting her and fellow restaurateurs and farmers.
On the Make Stuff Cost Less tour, Roy has released his plans to lower the cost of food and groceries, health care and utilities. In the coming weeks Roy will share his plans for making housing and child care more affordable.
