Roy Cooper for North Carolina

Roy Cooper Continues “Make Stuff Cost Less” Tour in Greensboro

RALEIGH – Today, Roy Cooper continued his “Make Stuff Cost Less” tour, holding an event in Greensboro to discuss how he will work in the U.S. Senate to make life more affordable for North Carolina families.

“I have a plan to make stuff cost less, I’m running to put the middle class back within reach for hardworking North Carolinians and I’ll work with anyone I can in the Senate to get it done,” said Roy Cooper. “Washington DC insider and Big Oil and utility company lobbyist Michael Whatley spent his career enriching himself while working families in Greensboro and around the state paid more. He’s cheered on policies that have driven up prices and helped double people’s health care premiums – North Carolina can’t afford any more of that.”

“Right now, just covering everyday needs can be a struggle,” said Gibsonville native and NC A&T University Senior Breyonne Harper. “It just shouldn’t be this hard to afford what I need to get by. While other candidates keep claiming that prices aren’t as high as they actually are, Roy Cooper knows that stuff just costs too much right now and has a track record of delivering results and lowering costs for hardworking people. Roy truly embodies what it means to be a North Carolinian and he is the leader we need fighting for us in Washington DC.”

“My congregation is hurting from rising prices,” said U.S. Army veteran and Senior Pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in High Point, Reverend Frank Thomas. “Pick almost any item these days – it costs more. Roy Cooper has a plan to make stuff cost less. Roy is a man of faith who will work with anyone to get stuff done – and he is exactly who we need in the U.S. Senate.”

On the Make Stuff Cost Less tour, Roy released his plans to lower the cost of food and groceries, health care, utilities, child care and housing.
