RALEIGH – Today, Roy Cooper continued his “Make Stuff Cost Less” tour, holding an event in Graham to discuss how he will continue his work in the U.S. Senate to make life more affordable for North Carolina families.
“North Carolina families in Alamance County and around the state are paying more and getting less on everything from gas to groceries to utility bills,” said Roy Cooper. “Meanwhile, career DC insider and lobbyist Michael Whatley keeps cheering on policies that drive up costs for working families all while he personally profits. We need to make stuff cost less for people who are hurting, and I’ll work with anyone I can in the U.S. Senate to deliver for hardworking North Carolinians.”
“As the cost of food, health care, utilities and housing skyrockets, families like mine across North Carolina are feeling increasingly squeezed,” said lifelong Alamance County resident Taylor Mebane. “While DC insider Michael Whatley pushes policies that enrich himself at our expense, Roy Cooper knows that stuff just costs too much right now. He is running to fight for us in Washington DC, and in the U.S. Senate, he will work with anyone to make life more affordable.”
“While utility and grocery costs rise, young working people like me are left to figure out how to make ends meet,” said young professional and current graduate student Mannie Aquino. “As Governor, Roy put working North Carolinians first and fought to lower costs. As our next U.S. Senator, I know that he will be an independent voice fighting for what really matters – making stuff cost less.”
On his “Make Stuff Cost Less” tour, Roy has released his plans to lower the cost of food and groceries, health care, utilities, child care and housing.
