RALEIGH – Today, Roy Cooper continued his “Make Stuff Cost Less” tour, holding an event in Concord to discuss how he will work in the U.S. Senate to make life more affordable for North Carolina families.
“From the grocery store to the gas station, working families here in Concord and around the state are hurting as prices skyrocket,” said Roy Cooper. “Michael Whatley is cheering on the policies jacking up costs while his own stock portfolio spikes, and North Carolinians deserve better. I’m running because working families need change and I’ll be a strong independent leader in the U.S. Senate focused on working with anyone I can to make stuff cost less.”
“As I look at the world my kids and grandkids are inheriting, it’s clear they are being failed by the chaos coming out of Washington DC,” said 28-year Navy veteran, Captain Carl McCullough. “Prices are up at the grocery store and the gas pump, and our active duty service members are risking their lives for us in a war that nobody wanted. We need Roy Cooper in the U.S. Senate so service members and military families have a leader who will fight for them and working families will have someone focused on making stuff cost less.”
“It is getting harder and harder for North Carolina’s educators and our families to get by,” said public school teacher and Kannapolis native Zach Erwin. “Costs are rising across the board, and we’re struggling to stay afloat. North Carolina needs a fighter for working North Carolinians in the U.S. Senate and Roy Cooper is just the person for the job.”
On the Make Stuff Cost Less tour, Roy released his plans to lower the cost of food and groceries, health care, utilities, child care and housing.
