Roy Cooper for North Carolina

Roy Cooper Continues “Make Stuff Cost Less” Tour in Concord

RALEIGH – Today, Roy Cooper continued his “Make Stuff Cost Less” tour, holding an event in Concord to discuss how he will work in the U.S. Senate to make life more affordable for North Carolina families.

“Hardworking North Carolina families in the Concord/Kannapolis area and around the state have now paid an extra $700 at the gas pump because of the Iran War,” said Roy Cooper. “As prices skyrocket across the board, North Carolina families just can’t afford the chaos coming out of Washington D.C. I am running to make stuff cost less, while DC Insider and Big Oil Lobbyist Michael Whatley is running to benefit his bottom line and help his billionaire buddies get even further ahead.”

“As a young professional, life feels increasingly unaffordable,” said Charlotte medical student Tushar Joshi. “Gas, groceries, rent, utilities – it just doesn’t end. When Roy Cooper was our state’s governor, he listened to North Carolinians, expanded affordable healthcare and proved himself as a champion for working families. We need Roy Cooper in the U.S. Senate.”

“Being a teacher is the best job in the world – our youngest North Carolinians will own the future – but as prices skyrocket, I am worried,” said Concord public school teacher Tami Brantley. “From the grocery store to health care to affording housing, the American dream has become out of reach for the next generation. Roy Cooper knows that stuff just costs too much right now. Washington DC insider Michael Whatley only cares about his bottom line – we need Roy in the U.S. Senate to take on the big corporations that are making life more expensive for North Carolina families.”

On the Make Stuff Cost Less tour, Roy released his plans to lower the cost of food and groceries, health care, utilities, child care and housing.
