Rep. Grange Slams Dan Forest on Corruption, HB 2, Divisiveness

With just 4 days out from the primary, Rep. Grange is not holding back

RALEIGH — This week, Rep. Grange has not sugar-coated her concerns about Dan Forest as the Republican nominee in the gubernatorial race, slamming Forest over his corrupt mega-donor Greg Lindberg, his position on HB 2, and his divisive rhetoric. Here’s a quick look at some of the punches Grange has thrown this week:

On Dan Forest’s Biggest Donor (Now Indicted)

Earlier this week, Rep. Grange commented on Dan Forest’s ties to his biggest donor, indicted businessman Greg Lindberg, “When someone takes money from someone who has been indicted for bribing elected officials, as an elected official that’s problematic.”

“If he is the nominee, I guarantee you’ll hear about it [Lindberg trial] every day, ” Grange said.

“Grange said HB 2, partially repealed in 2017, was unpopular in her hometown, whose film industry business took a hit during a nationwide backlash against the law. She voted for the 2017 repeal.” [Associated Press, 2/26/2020]

On Dan Forest’s Divisiveness

Last night, Rep. Grange told Tim Boyum in her Final Argument for Republican Governor Primary, “Dan Forest has made divisive comments. The comments he made about multiculturalism were divisive. I think the comments he made on [Martin Luther King Jr. Day] were divisive. I would bring people together and not split people apart.”
