Dan Forest Puts Up Abysmal Q1 Fundraising Numbers, Continues to Burn Through Cash

The numbers: 144% Burn Rate. 403K raised. 582K Spent. COH: ~750K.

Cooper Outraising Forest 16:1

RALEIGH – In his Q1 fundraising report, Dan Forest managed to up his burn rate from 107% at the end of the year to 144% with just six days left until primary day.

The report indicates Forest raised about $400,000 and spent about $580,000. That brings his burn rate up to nearly 150% for Q1 and tanks his cash on hand total to about $750,000.

Cooper for NC raised $1.7 million in Q1, raising its cash on hand total to nearly $9.6 million and outraising Forest’s campaign 16:1.

A few items from Forest’s report might raise some eyebrows…

  • $18,000 to SR22T LLC for “Plane Lease”
  • $2,179 on ornaments
  • $317.86 on an “Emergency Sport Coat” from Brooks Brothers
  • $154,661.54 in yard sign related expenses
