RALEIGH — Last Thursday, Roy Cooper continued his “Make Stuff Cost Less” tour, holding an event in Greenville to highlight how he will continue his work in the U.S. Senate to bring down skyrocketing costs and make life more affordable for working North Carolinians.

- “There’s so many people here in North Carolina just looking up at the middle class thinking, is the American dream dead? Am I never going to get there?” Cooper said. “People in the middle class (are saying) we’re just barely hanging on and for so many North Carolina families, they’re just too much month left at the end of the money.”
- As his second term as governor neared, a bipartisan effort led to the adoption of Medicaid expansion in 2023… The result was more than 725,000 people across the state, including more 15,000 Pitt County, gained health insurance, Cooper said.

- “People are actually going to the grocery store and are trying to get the same thing every week, and they’re seeing that it costs a lot more, and many people are having to take things out of their grocery basket because they simply can’t afford it,” Cooper said. “Stuff just costs too much.”
- “We need leaders in Washington who are going to work for these people, not for the billionaires or the corporations,” Cooper said.
