RALEIGH – Roy Cooper continued his “Make Stuff Cost Less” tour, holding an event in Alamance County on Monday to discuss how he will continue his work in the U.S. Senate to make life more affordable for North Carolina families.

  • North Carolina families in Alamance County and around the state are paying more and getting less on everything from gas to groceries to utility bills,” [Roy] Cooper said. “We need to make stuff cost less for people who are hurting, and I’ll work with anyone I can in the U.S. Senate to deliver for hardworking North Carolinians.”
  • Taylor Mebane of Mebane expressed how the increasing prices for food, health care, utilities and housing have added stress on families.
  • “While utility and grocery costs rise, young working people like me are left to figure out how to make ends meet,” [Mannie] Aquino said.
  • Cooper said he has heard from residents across the state who are struggling to keep up with rising expenses.
  • Cooper also had remarks about his Republican opponent, Michael Whatley, the former chairman of the North Carolina Republican Party. Cooper said that Whatley has supported policies that favor corporate interests over the needs of lower-income families.
