RALEIGH – Today, Roy Cooper continued his “Make Stuff Cost Less” tour, holding an event in Henderson to discuss how he will work in the U.S. Senate to make life more affordable for North Carolina families.
“Costs are skyrocketing for families here in Vance County and across the state,” said Roy Cooper. “Working North Carolinians are hurting while DC Insider and Big Oil and utility lobbyist Michael Whatley pushes for policies that line his own pockets and make billionaires and corporations even richer. In Washington, I will be an independent leader and fight to make stuff cost less.”
“Things are way too expensive for retirees like myself along with my kids and grandkids,” said retiree and proud grandmother Sue Nicholas. “When Roy Cooper was our governor, he worked to make life more affordable for everyday people throughout North Carolina. He worked to secure the future that our families, our children and grandchildren deserve. We need to send a proven leader like Roy to the U.S. Senate to make everyday items cost less.”
“As an Army veteran who served for 30 years, I am grateful for our service members who are risking their lives overseas,” said Army veteran Colonel Ken Williams. “While folks here at home are dealing with skyrocketing prices, Big Oil and utility company lobbyist Michael Whatley supports policies causing inflated prices. Roy has put our service members and military families first his whole career, and we need to send him to Washington to confront corruption and incompetence and fight for policies to reduce the costs of living.”
On the Make Stuff Cost Less tour, Roy released his plans to lower the cost of food and groceries, health care, utilities, child care and housing.
