Roy Cooper for North Carolina

Governor Cooper and Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock Tour Small Businesses in Charlotte, Highlighting the Disastrous Impact of Tariffs on North Carolina Small Businesses

Chaotic Tariffs and Rising Costs Have Made it More Difficult for Small Business Owners to Make Ends Meet and Raised Costs on Consumers

RALEIGH – Today, Governor Roy Cooper and Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock of Georgia met with small business owners in Charlotte, including a coffee shop and a bridal shop, and discussed the devastating effects that the federal government’s erratic, reckless tariffs are having on their businesses and customers. Governor Cooper spoke about the importance of working to lower costs and make life more affordable for small businesses and their customers.

“Small businesses are a vital part of North Carolina’s economy and our communities, but right now they’re getting hammered by rising costs caused by the federal government’s chaotic tariffs,” said Roy Cooper. “My opponent, Michael Whatley, has supported these tariffs while North Carolina business owners and families struggle. Our state deserves better.”

“Roy Cooper knows how important our small businesses are and has worked throughout his career to support them,” said Senator Reverend Warnock. “North Carolina deserves a Senator like Roy in Washington who knows how to get things done and will make it easier for small businesses to make ends meet.”

Governor Cooper has stood up for small businesses his entire career. He worked to help small businesses across North Carolina secure millions in grants for research, development, hiring, and more.
