RALEIGH – As health care continues to come under attack in Washington, Governor Josh Stein today announced that Governor Cooper’s first-in-the-nation program to relieve the crushing burden of medical debt has successfully helped clear more than $6.5 billion in medical debt for more than 2.5 million North Carolinians as well as preventing future medical debt for patients. The program was initially expected to erase $4 billion in debt.

RALEIGH – Today, the Cooper for North Carolina campaign released a new digital ad highlighting DC Insider and Big Oil Lobbyist Michael Whatley’s failure to deliver critical federal funding and resources for Helene recovery in Western North Carolina after being appointed as the federal Helene recovery czar earlier this year. The new ad will run on digital platforms in Western North Carolina.
