Thank You! - Roy Cooper wins 61% of vote
A huge thank you from Roy Cooper’s campaign team for the tremendous showing during last week’s election. With your help and support, Attorney General Cooper was the leading vote getter of any candidate on the ballot, and he won with a convincing 61 percent of the vote! He received over 2.5 million votes, the most votes received by any candidate in North Carolina history. It was a record setting night for North Carolina and for Roy Cooper!
Already Attorney General Cooper is hard at work on his third term to protect people and make North Carolina safer. He is working to strengthen North Carolina’s economy by putting borrowers and lenders together to prevent foreclosures and keep mortgage lending terms fair. At the Department of Justice he is working to make wise budget cuts just like North Carolina families are doing while preserving our ability to fight crime and protect consumers from scams.
Last month he launched an innovative program called Badges for Baseball with Hall of Fame shortstop Cal Ripken Jr. and the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation. The program enlists volunteer law enforcement officers as mentors and matches them with at risk kids. Through sports and a proven curriculum the kids learn life skills and values with positive role models. Initiatives like this can keep kids away from gangs and trouble and toward growing up ready to learn and lead.
